Los accidentes por esta sustancia en la industria alimentaria exigen un an\u00e1lisis urgente.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Cinco empleados del frigor\u00edfico Neuland se encuentran internados y estables en el Hospital de IPS de Benjam\u00edn Aceval, luego de una fuga de amoniaco registrada en las instalaciones. Este es el segundo incidente en el a\u00f1o en este mismo frigor\u00edfico, siendo el primero en mayo pasado, cuando siete trabajadores resultaron intoxicados por la misma causa.<\/p>\n<p>El amoniaco es un compuesto qu\u00edmico que, aunque es ampliamente utilizado en la industria frigor\u00edfica para la refrigeraci\u00f3n, representa serios riesgos para la salud humana si no es manejado adecuadamente. La exposici\u00f3n al amoniaco puede provocar desde irritaci\u00f3n en los ojos y la garganta hasta problemas respiratorios graves y da\u00f1os en los pulmones. En casos de alta concentraci\u00f3n, incluso puede ser mortal.<\/p>\n<p>En Paraguay, los incidentes por intoxicaci\u00f3n con amoniaco en frigor\u00edficos han sido una preocupaci\u00f3n constante debido a los riesgos que implica su uso. Dada la naturaleza t\u00f3xica del amoniaco, tanto la Organizaci\u00f3n Internacional del Trabajo (OIT) como las autoridades locales insisten en la necesidad de protocolos estrictos de seguridad en la industria. Sin embargo, los recurrentes incidentes, como el registrado en Neuland, demuestran que a\u00fan existen debilidades en su implementaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s de los impactos en la salud de los trabajadores, estos sucesos generan una serie de interrogantes sobre las pol\u00edticas de seguridad laboral y los sistemas de control en la industria alimentaria nacional. \u00bfQu\u00e9 se est\u00e1 haciendo para reducir estos riesgos? \u00bfExisten mecanismos de respuesta y prevenci\u00f3n eficaces?
