Este esfuerzo, coordinado por la Direcci\u00f3n de Vida Silvestre y la Direcci\u00f3n de Investigaci\u00f3n Biol\u00f3gica del Museo Nacional de Historia Natural del Paraguay, junto con el Instituto Forestal Nacional (INFONA) y la Facultad de Ciencias Agrarias de la Universidad Nacional de Asunci\u00f3n (CIF\/FCA\/UNA), busca evaluar el estado poblacional de esta especie, muy valorada por su madera arom\u00e1tica y su uso tradicional.<\/p>\n<p>Como parte del Proyecto de Estudio Poblacional para la Elaboraci\u00f3n del Plan de Manejo del Palo Santo, se realiz\u00f3 un inventario forestal y se instalaron parcelas de monitoreo en la propiedad de la firma Chortitzer Ltda., en San Antonio, Alto Paraguay. Estas acciones permitir\u00e1n no solo conocer mejor la situaci\u00f3n actual del Palo Santo, sino tambi\u00e9n dise\u00f1ar estrategias para su conservaci\u00f3n a largo plazo, incluyendo la restauraci\u00f3n de \u00e1reas degradadas y programas educativos dirigidos a las comunidades locales.<\/p>\n<p>El Palo Santo, conocido por su valor ecol\u00f3gico, econ\u00f3mico y cultural, ha enfrentado desaf\u00edos en su conservaci\u00f3n debido a la explotaci\u00f3n indiscriminada. Este proyecto refleja el compromiso del pa\u00eds para asegurar su uso sostenible y la protecci\u00f3n de los ecosistemas donde habita.
