Donde antes predominaba el hielo, ahora se observan signos de vegetaci\u00f3n en expansi\u00f3n. Estudios recientes realizados por las universidades de Exeter y Hertfordshire, junto con el British Antarctic Survey, muestran que la cobertura vegetal en esta regi\u00f3n ha crecido diez veces desde 1986. Este fen\u00f3meno, visible incluso desde el espacio, es un claro indicador del impacto del cambio clim\u00e1tico.<\/p>\n<p>El cambio clim\u00e1tico ha acelerado el deshielo en la regi\u00f3n, exponiendo m\u00e1s tierras que ahora est\u00e1n siendo colonizadas por musgos, l\u00edquenes y otras plantas resistentes al fr\u00edo. Este reverdecimiento no solo modifica el paisaje, sino que plantea riesgos ecol\u00f3gicos significativos. Los expertos advierten que la presencia de m\u00e1s vegetaci\u00f3n podr\u00eda reducir la capacidad de la Ant\u00e1rtida para reflejar la luz solar, incrementando el calentamiento en la zona y a nivel global.<\/p>\n<p>Uno de los mayores temores de los cient\u00edficos es la posible llegada de especies invasoras, que podr\u00edan alterar la biodiversidad \u00fanica de la Ant\u00e1rtida.
