Esta advertencia fue planteada por especialistas durante el foro \u201cEnerg\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica para asegurar la continuidad del desarrollo en Paraguay\u201d, donde se destac\u00f3 la necesidad de tomar decisiones y acelerar las inversiones en el sector.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Los datos presentados durante el encuentro muestran que en 2025 el sistema el\u00e9ctrico registr\u00f3 una demanda de aproximadamente 29.500 gigavatios hora, mientras que la potencia m\u00e1xima alcanz\u00f3 los 5.280 megavatios. En los \u00faltimos tres a\u00f1os, el consumo acumul\u00f3 un crecimiento cercano al 49,8%, impulsado principalmente por la llegada de nuevas industrias y grandes usuarios de electricidad. Las proyecciones apuntan a que la demanda podr\u00eda alcanzar unos 57.500 gigavatios hora para 2043.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Los expertos estiman que las actuales fuentes de generaci\u00f3n, principalmente Itaip\u00fa, Yacyret\u00e1 y Acaray, podr\u00e1n responder a las necesidades del sistema solo hasta aproximadamente 2028-2030, dependiendo del ritmo de crecimiento de la demanda. Por ello, consideran urgente incorporar nuevas fuentes de generaci\u00f3n y advierten que la electricidad producida por estas alternativas tendr\u00e1 costos superiores a los actuales. Entre las opciones mencionadas figuran la energ\u00eda solar, biomasa, peque\u00f1as hidroel\u00e9ctricas, el intercambio de electricidad con Brasil y Argentina y el gas natural.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s de aumentar la generaci\u00f3n, los especialistas plantearon la necesidad de modernizar la estructura institucional del sector el\u00e9ctrico. Durante el foro se se\u00f1al\u00f3 que Paraguay debe prepararse desde ahora para contar con nuevas centrales y analizar alternativas de largo plazo, incluida la energ\u00eda nuclear.
