El incremento del nivel se produjo debido a las lluvias registradas en las represas ubicadas aguas arriba.<\/p>\n<p>La binacional inform\u00f3 que, en esta primera etapa, fueron habilitadas \u00fanicamente las compuertas de la canaleta izquierda del vertedero, permitiendo el paso de un caudal aproximado de 1.450 metros c\u00fabicos por segundo. Esta operaci\u00f3n continuar\u00e1 mientras sea necesario para garantizar la seguridad de la central hidroel\u00e9ctrica.<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan explic\u00f3 ITAIPU, las actuales condiciones de los sistemas el\u00e9ctricos interconectados con la usina impiden regular el nivel del embalse mediante un aumento en la generaci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda. Por ese motivo, se opt\u00f3 por utilizar el vertedero hasta que las condiciones permitan retomar el control a trav\u00e9s de la producci\u00f3n de electricidad.<\/p>\n<p>La entidad tambi\u00e9n asegur\u00f3 que el suministro de energ\u00eda para Paraguay y Brasil contin\u00faa desarroll\u00e1ndose con total normalidad. Asimismo, record\u00f3 que la central opera bajo el sistema de \u00aba pelo de agua\u00bb, con un embalse de baja capacidad de almacenamiento.
