Entre las m\u00e1s afectadas se encuentra el oso hormiguero gigante, conocido en guaran\u00ed como jurum\u00ed, un animal emblem\u00e1tico de Paraguay que actualmente se encuentra en la categor\u00eda de Vulnerable.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"457\" data-end=\"837\">La p\u00e9rdida de grandes extensiones de monte ha limitado la movilidad de esta especie, oblig\u00e1ndola a desplazarse hacia zonas ganaderas en busca de alimento. Esta situaci\u00f3n incrementa los riesgos para su supervivencia, ya que muchos ejemplares mueren tras contagiarse de enfermedades transmitidas por el ganado o al enfrentarse con perros utilizados para el cuidado de las estancias.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"839\" data-end=\"1190\">Ante este escenario, cient\u00edficas paraguayas llevaron adelante estudios espec\u00edficos sobre el jurum\u00ed, con el objetivo de comprender mejor las amenazas que enfrenta y las causas de su disminuci\u00f3n poblacional. Las investigaciones confirman que el avance de la frontera agropecuaria es uno de los principales factores que afectan directamente a la especie.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1192\" data-end=\"1555\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Como resultado de estos trabajos, las investigadoras presentaron una serie de propuestas orientadas a frenar la desaparici\u00f3n del oso hormiguero gigante.
