Este hallazgo tambi\u00e9n ha facilitado la creaci\u00f3n de una categor\u00eda gen\u00e9rica distinta, denominada Pudella, que se distingue de las especies de pud\u00faes previamente reconocidas (Pudu).<\/p>\n<p>Guillermo D&#8217;Elia, docente de la Universidad Austral de Chile en Valdivia, detalla en un estudio de 2024, publicado en el Journal of Mammalogy, c\u00f3mo \u00e9l y su equipo descubrieron que el pud\u00fa norte\u00f1o representa dos especies diferentes. Este hallazgo se bas\u00f3 en la observaci\u00f3n de caracter\u00edsticas estructurales espec\u00edficas y en la evaluaci\u00f3n de la variabilidad gen\u00e9tica.<\/p>\n<p>El equipo de investigaci\u00f3n revel\u00f3 la existencia de una variedad de pud\u00fa norte\u00f1o en Ecuador, Colombia y Per\u00fa, ubicada al norte de la depresi\u00f3n de Huancabamba en Per\u00fa. Identificaron otra variedad, presente \u00fanicamente al sur de esta depresi\u00f3n en Per\u00fa, a la cual han nombrado Pudella carlae.<\/p>\n<p>La investigaci\u00f3n reciente redefini\u00f3 la clasificaci\u00f3n de especies conocidas, bas\u00e1ndose en datos morfol\u00f3gicos del pud\u00fa de la yunga peruana. Anteriormente, se asum\u00eda que la especie reci\u00e9n descubierta correspond\u00eda al Pud\u00fa mephistophiles; no obstante, el an\u00e1lisis conducido por Javier Barrio, vicepresidente del Centro de Ornitolog\u00eda y Biodiversidad de Per\u00fa, revel\u00f3 una realidad diferente.<\/p>\n<p>D&#8217;Elia menciona que los pud\u00faes desempe\u00f1an un papel crucial en el ecosistema, proporcionando alimento a los depredadores y distribuyendo semillas para la vegetaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abEstos herb\u00edvoros se alimentan de hojas, brotes, frutas y flores, actividades que probablemente les permiten dispersar semillas y contribuir a la estructura del sotobosque\u00bb, se\u00f1ala. \u00abAdem\u00e1s, al ser objetivo de depredadores superiores, su existencia y comportamiento tienen un impacto significativo en varios procesos ecol\u00f3gicos\u00bb.<\/p>\n<div class=\"syndication-links\"><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Investigadores latinoamericanos han identificado una especie in\u00e9dita de c\u00e9rvido en Per\u00fa, bautiz\u00e1ndola como Pudella carlae.
